Torwar II Skating Rink

One of the most popular skating rinks is located inside Torwar II arena that is a part of a larger sport complex. The Centrum Osrodek Sportu (the Main Center of Sport) was established on December 2, 1969 according to the Regulation issued by President of the Chief Committee for Physical Education and Tourism. It was intended as Olympic sport training center where ideal conditions for Polish representative sportsmen would be created. Nowadays the Main Center for Sport in Warsaw concerns itself with amateur and professional sport, as well as family sports that are considered to be of special importance. On area exceeding 19,000 square meters, meant for 5-thousand audience the most important sport contest, grandiose artistic and exhibition events are held.

The modern skating rink of Torwar II has been functioning since 1996. The high quality of ice can be sustained by the fact that this rink is used for training of national figure skating and ice-hockey teams. There are also skating schools for children and figure skating clubs.

The skating ring Torwar II is not open for public skating every day, but as a rule on Thursday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays you're welcomed. At Torwar, you can rent a pair of skates or sharpen your own blades.
